The downside to hooking up the cables yourself, if she was driving an MGB as in the photo above, is that you'd miss a nice show...the batteries are behind the seats in those cars.

But under normal circumstances, I would insist on doing the connections myself.

 

I used my challenger this morning to give a woman at the gas station a jump start. I made it clear before hand I would make all the connections.

Would you be willing to jump start someone in need or is it not worth the risk of battery, alternator, or electronic damage?

I haven't looked, does our manual have any guidance?

I wonder if I was giving the jump (versus needing one...) if it's advisable to use the battery posts or is it acceptable to use the jump points in the engine bay???

 

I used the points under the hood and grounded on a chassis bolt. Her car started right up.

 

There's markings in the engine bay of where to connect.

 

Yep, a jump would be no problem and hopefully would really be appreciated, especially in the environment we live in these days.
