many might say, the 1.564 isn't a big deal .... a stock H/C with a drag pack rear set-up, you get my vote with a 1.5xx
Quick note on all this.

1. In "MY" car sport traction control DOES NOT let you do a burnout. My car would NOT even barely spin the tires with sport TC on. I had to FULLY disable the TC by pushing down the brake while stopped, and holding the button for like 5-7 seconds. It would ding and all TC would be OFF.

2. The kicker here is that launch control WILL NOT activate if the TC is off. It needs to be ON, SPORT or TRACK in regards to traction control before you can activate launch control.

This made the process of getting up to the line and during the burnout and getting prestaged a bit fussy and confusing. I would have to start as I rolled up to the burnout box with the TC completely disabled. At which point I could do the burnout.

Then after rolling that out, before I got all the way to prestage, I would turn the TC back on with two presses to get it into sport TC. Even though I was using TRACK MODE, I was using sport TC to make sure the LC worked.

Then as I was rolling up, I would hit activate launch control on the radio and it would be "ENABLED". Again, I was planning on foot braking at 1600-1800, so I had the launch RPM set to 2500.

Once I was staged and ready to go, LC was still enabled and ready. I would instead of standing on the gas hard to kick it in, I would bring the revs up slow. I was able to get to the limit of the brakes with the gas holding at 1600 but not to the floor obv, and when it was go-time, I came off the brake and went WOT.

Worked PERFECTLY. As expected. Its a procedure, but its possible to defeat this new "launch assist" from dodge that prevents you from foot brake launching anything higher than like 1200.

I didnt get a chance to try actual launch control, but maybe next time.

I would be interested in seeing you use the LC next time. I am one of the few that like this feature, however, it never crossed my mind about using it doesn't load the drive train like foot braking so I will be attempting the opposite next time myself.

Nice run brotha! That is a damn fast cat !!!!!!

Nice work...

Interesting how they added nannies for traction?

Zero tune with bad cots on a warm day we would be neck and neck.

Am I missing something? Do you not use Line Lock to warm the tires?

It is going to be a long winter, I'm dying to try your technique but the dragway is closed for the season. :(:(:(

I think If I knew this before, it would made all the difference!

No never thought about using line lock. That’s a great call out. Wouldn’t have to disable TC then to do the burnout.

Funny you should bring this up....

2022RES2: Late in the season I got to 10.018!!!! Could not get it to go better!!!!:mad::mad:

I would foot brake but if I did more than about 1300 it would do the sputtering thing!. Someone called it Torque Reserve.

If I launched with it sputtering, it would be slower. Best times were foot breaking at about 1200 which was max w/o sputter. I could stomp on it and never break traction, but I needed another 0.02sec to get a 9!!! I could not figure out how to get that extra!

I wish I had this info 2 months ago!!!! Now I have to wait until late spring!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestion!!!

When we get back to the track in the spring I can show you how to avoid hitting the Torque Reserve. I tried upping the LC to 2500 and it did not work with the 21 SS but I spent a lot of time sitting in the car just bringing the RPMS up and part if it is actually brake pedal pressure related, on a light pedal with out pushing thru you can bring the RPMS up slow w/o out hitting TR the alternative is with light pressure you can activate the TR by stabbing the break and put it into TR when you want, the key with TR is that it times out after too long and then you end up with a dead pedal when the tree drops, at least that has been my experience with the 21 SS. I managed to squeak out 10.038/133 and that with the Stage 1 kit @840 on Boostane 100 Octane. Little more weight reduction for me and the car and I hope to push a sub 10 run!

AH! I knew you had some secrets!!! Your times are incredible! I'd love to see what you could do with a Stage 2! You have all winter! ;)

(For the audience: I asked LM to drive my car at the track but declined. Now I'm thinking LM might have been able to trick it into the 9's!)

What were your times before the S1?

It may have hit 10.5 but was consistent at 10.6/7 full weight with the Hoosiers. Never had the DA like we did this fall. Now running 17MTs, front sway bar and passenger seat removed. Even in the hear this summer it was 10.3 consistent. I spend a lot of time driving that car in my head and it has paid off 10 fold. I’m thankful to be able to swap cars and run the 15 HC and not miss a beat.

Last year (Oct23) before the S2 I was 10.6's also, best was 10.617 @127, launch control, DA somewhere around 1000. I think the front seat was removed. S2 appears to take off about 1/2sec, but it is hard to tell as I am a novice at the launch. Seems like the S1 almost does the same for you!

You have great cars, hang on to them!

Can't wait until next season to try what has been suggested in this thread. Also land speed trials, hopefully this time with all injectors working! :)

Thanks for the info!

Im getting super frustrated with this launch assist garbage. I'd like to NOT do the TC off/on/LC enable dance at the line when Im trying to focus on just getting the car A to B.

Anyone have any luck killing or defeating the new "feature" dodge gave us with these newer hellcats? I cant stand it. Looks like the TRX folks have it too. Not sure bout the durangos.

Id like to just disable TC all together and be able to foot brake it up past 1100 or so to like 1600-1700 without it dropping into this launch assist.

As my car is not cursed with this and I only was cursed with the 2021 and later COTS issues the only help I can give is with your added power 1100 RPM More than likely is going to be your sweat spot any how. A lot of people get best time leaving off idle. Hope it gets worked out !

Leaving off idle is how you snap driveline parts. Loading it up on the line with 1400-1800 rpm takes the shock out of the hit since you are already loaded up.

No way I could launch 1800 RPM's stock.. I have about 860 WHP and 800 to 1000 Works best for me. Just saying. Off idle I do mean load the torque converter but that is it.
Once again best of luck.

I’ll try it. Heading to the track tonight for some negative DA goodness.
