Hello guys , i have a 16 charger hellcat and ive been wondering is it just me or does it seem like the newer hellcats (2020-2023) whine alot louder then the older ones do , ive noticed the newer ones have more agressive downshifts and you can hear the blower whereas mine is pretty much all exhaust while downshifting , idk if their tuned a little different or what but if theirs been anyone in here whos had both id love to hear your input ,

P.S. i do already have a aftermarket intake on the car ( bwoody )

So, if I recall correctly, the 2019+ cars all have different hoods due to changes by Dodge, plus the Redeye intake on the standard Hellcat because of the hood change. It's possible that you're hearing it better because of that. Aside from that, I can't really think of anything that would be different.

Something else to consider is I believe the 2015/2016 Hellcats all had the MAF sensors and everything else has been done with Speed Density...so that could also play a roll..

I agree the hood and the intake may make the newer cars sound a bit louder plus you have the fact the 2019+ STD HC cars just make more power than the 2015-2018 cars.
Here are Dodge’s official SAE engine dyno ratings and you can see the the 2019 cars were intentionally underrated the most.

Why would they under rate that car the most? What’s the benefit of that?
