My custom mode is sport on everything except traction, which I set on street. That way you still have traction control and won't fishtail so much.

 

That's exactly what I do! I just wish I could set my custom to the default. Always have to set after starting the car.

 

You used the black key?? That may be against the law..

 

HA! Aafter using the red key, it should be against the law to use the black one. I stored it up on a very high shelf in my closet and don't plan on using it
for a very long time.

 

I run everything in Sport, except the transmission, which I run in Street. Why Street? Because when I'm loafing it seems like the car won't upshift until the RPM is above 3,000 in Sport. Where in Street, the car will upshift normally if I'm driving in a more relaxed manner. And yes, occasionally I drive halfway sane.

If you find the steering twitchy in sport, set it to street.

 

Maybe my senses are dulled from old age and alcohol, but I find the steering less boosted/twitchy in Sport.

 

You have the electric steering also, right? Funny, mine is almost annoying in sport during normal driving.

 

If you run with traction in sport, you'll probably get beat by a 5.0 from the line due to traction control being turned off. At least with street mode you can compete and win, but you need better rubber than the P Zeros.

 

I guess, I don't know. it's a 2019 RE late-year build. I'll drive it today in both and report back.

 

^^ mine as well, I don't like sport steering, I always stick with street everything except occasionally sport transmission.

Mine is only taking out on nice days for fun. In this case I put everything in Sport except traction is in Track. I like sliding around. If I want to race something I would put it back in sport

 

I think my black key works I’m not 100 percent sure

 

Have you tried using the unlock button to confirm? Could be a low battery? ;-)

 

There is a good reason for a black key. My wife feels more comfortable using it. Also, no frekin' way I'm leaving the red with the mechanic!!!

 

Why would you ever want to let 200+ hp at home?

 

Finally had time to take her out with the Red Key. Big difference! Love the better & improved shift points. Miss the TC, but I'm sure that can be turned on with the Custom settings, right? Been so darn busy, haven't even had time to read the owners manual. Downloaded it on my phone, so I can educate myself as time allows.
Defiantly will be using the red key all the time. This car is beyond unreal! Love it!

Question: What setting do most of you use with the red key. Track/Sport/Custom/Auto?
Car is mainly used for 'therapeutic' fun. No daily driver; just lots of fun on days off.
OK...MASSIVE AMOUNTS of adrenalized rushes with each & every drive. You know what I mean.

I grab the black key by accident rushing out the door on a weekend trip. Boy I was pissed! haha at first I didn't know why it wouldn't go into 797 mode! One of the worst road trips in the cat.

 

When I test drove (around the dealer's large lot) I had the black key not even thinking about the red key. I thought "this is no more power than my Scat Pack", and I was right. Red key all the time except for when going in for service.

 

When I test drove my hellcat, the dealer handed me the black key and let me have at it by myself. I was like, yea, there better be another 200HP, or this is going to suck. Never drove Scat Pack or any other Challenger to compare though.

I actually do use the black key a lot. I use it when I just need to go in and out of the car or move cars around the driveway. Why use up all the good battery of the red key?
