Hi all. Apologies I have not been on in a while due to life and career just being crazy. For those that do not know I am the original poster of this thread. I'm glad to hear everybody is happy with the upgrade when they've done it to their vehicle. For 2016 vehicles and above, the only two minor issues is launch control will not go over 1,000 RPM, and the IAT temperature will not display in the Uconnect but will display in the center instrument cluster. Frankly, the benefit you get from the upgrade is much better than the minor IAT issue and the launch control, which I never use anyways. I know some of you have mentioned the IAT displays correctly after the upgrade I don't know why this is other than possibly there are so many part numbers for replacement Uonnects that maybe some of them have different software that makes it display correctly but I'm not sure? I have a theory regarding the launch control where if you raise the RPM prior to the upgrade, it may stay at that setting once the upgrade is compete. However, I have never tested this myself I have just simply thought about this. I have also tinkered with AlfaOBD etc to try and figure out the IAT and launch control issue but I just never found an answer and it's such a minor thing with me that I just gave up. For those of you contemplating the upgrade, go for it you will not be disappointed, as I said the benefits far outweigh those two minor issues I previously mentioned. The one big thing is do not buy your Uconnect through Infotainment.com. All you will be getting from them is an overpriced used unit. If you don't find a unit used from a crash vehicle etc, just buy a brand new unit utilizing one of the part numbers in this thread. You will be far happier and you will save hundreds of dollars and get a brand new unit over a severely overpriced used unit that they sell. I have nothing against infotainment, I just want to give everybody the best information possible. One more thing as everybody always asks, yess Android auto and Apple carplay 100% works. And the only other thing is under "power" in the Uconnect it will display red key and does not displaythe horsepower but that to me is really not an issue.

Same issue with the 2015 cars?

I actually do not know if launch control and the IAT sensor is an issue as I have always done the upgrade on 2016+ cars. The one main difference with 2015 as far as upgrade is you need to also replace the BCM. There was a forum member who did the upgrade on his 2015 but I can't remember if he had the issues or not.

Is it necessary to disconnect the battery or pull radio fuses when swapping the parts ?
I would disconnect the battery just to be safe. I see no reason not to.

Well I finally joined the club! Just did the install on my 2016 Challenger Hellcat. Everything is working fine with the exception of I/C coolant temp of course. But no issues at all! And the sound quality seems to be better too! I’m loving it! Many thanks to this thread! 👍🏾

I just scored a non nav unit with the nexus hub and both sun visors (another project) for $400. They came out a 23 Hellcat. After installing it required an anti theft code that I was able to get for $10 from a website. Mine was also missing vented seats and the performance pages but after a few engine run cycles and few hours everything seems to work. Launch control is stuck at 1000 but I never use it. There might be a few other minor issue but everything I use works and the unit seems to have an increased volume over the og unit, I wish it had nav but I use Waze through CarPlay anyways. The new media hub doesn’t have issues connecting my phone like the og one had. At times it would not connect or connect after a few minutes. Sometimes you could replug it in a few times and it would finically work. No longer will this be an issue. Glad I was able to get the parts so cheap. This definitely was something I was seriously considering spending alot more on.

Updated my 2016 Hellcat recently and everything works correctly except launch control is stuck at 1000 rpm. Yes the IC coolant temp gauge in Performance Pages is also working. Since I pretty much use Waze all the time for navigation, having Apple Car Play makes driving the car a lot more enjoyable.

Does intercooler temp work too?

Are you able to adjust shift light rpm setpoint?

Yes the IC coolant temp works. I haven't tried adjusting the shift light RPM, just the launch control which is stuck at 1000 rpm. View attachment 647218
NICE!! I may have to try the 2017 screen I acquired and see how it works. I’m paranoid to try and remove the bezel without breaking or scratching it, my luck has not been the greatest lately.

It was a little scary removing the bezel but once you get it started, it comes off without much drama. I just used a set of plastic trim removal tools I bought on Amazon (see link below). Removing the old USB hub was actually a bigger pain.

I'd love to have carplay, but $1200 is decent price tag for that... Also I would need the EU radio, and I haven't seen Uconnect 8.4 Panasonic EU version without Navi. Technically Uconnect 4 not 4C
Because Navi with capability to put online navigation on screen is outdated
