If you simply want a stout M6, just put a T56 Magnum behind your big block Mopar. several vendors out there that have everything you need.

 

I dont want a stout m6. I want something that has a chance of standing up to 1000 + hp (motor not rear wheel) and I really like the m6 in our cat
If that thing can stand up to the hp and 4500 pounds that out cats have. Then it should be ok for a 1000 hp 3000/3500 pound older muscle

 

I also want a 6 speed and not a 5

The M6 in the HC is a Tremec TR6060. Also known in the aftermarket, as the Tremec T56 Magnum.

The GMG guys put a 2-speed Powerglide behind the HC 6.2, they did not use the A8.

Seams il have to buy a ultra bell. Bellhousing to mount it
Will be down the road. But would nice to know what problems the old mopars had in using the t56 magnum.
Is the m6 setup in our cats. A dual disc setup?

 

The motor that would be tranny would be asked to live behind. And the car the motor/tranny would be installed into

I am certainly not an expert, however my BF talks to the main Mopar HP guru and I really think the trans and clutch is a weak link in our cars and I am not sure you will get the performance you want with that much HP. I am glad you are checking with some Mopar guys on this, I bet they will have something better for you. Don't get me wrong, I still love my car, but I'm not racing it and if I started modding and adding HP, the trans and clutch are probably one of the first things I would consider replacing or improving upon, if I were going to add HP.

 

Until they make a crate version with it's own computer won't be worth the time and money to use an A8. Better to get a 6L80E and a adapter or Ultrabell if you want a 6 spd overdrive.
