So I am bone stock and was running 8.3 60-130, installed the legmaker intake and now I am consistently in the mid 7s.

What could cause this much of a difference from an intake alone??

I have the dragys posted in the dragy times thread. Surprised to see more members do not seem to own one.

That's a very nice gain for just a cold air intake. You're talking 0.8 seconds for 60-130 so I'm assuming the LMI could be one full second quicker for a full quarter mile run. There aren't many upgrades that will cut that much time for only +/- $400 (I'm not sure what they cost new).

However, I still hate the idea of "60-130 dragy times" since most folks are probably doing their testing on public roadways. At a track or other off-road venue is fine. Drive the speed limit on public roadways, period.

If you can believe at least some of the internet, I'm pretty sure I've read that the LMI intake is the best performing of the currently available aftermarket intakes. I also remember reading that the OEM intake system is better than, or at least as good as, most of the other intake systems (excluding LMI) when used with good flowing air filter. Again, this is only from what I've researched on the interwebs, lol.

That’s what I was hoping. I ran today and the time was terrible but it was hot as hell and it spun. Not to mention I shifted at like 127mph which cost me some. I need some more seat time
Is it an A8 car? If so why are you shifting it? What rear end gear?

Just did my calc's from the BIR long course Monday. The DA was btw 1000-2000. Stock powered REWB, with upgraded suspension, Cup 2 tires. She pulled a 6.6 second 60-130 as the best. Actually, Monday the Redeye finally was aligned correct using the AAD arms and subsequent careful toe adjustments front and back, and was benefitting also from the DS Suspension Controller. It was a cold track so there was just one session that the tires felt pretty good and I was able to really give it a few good runs up the straight at BIR. Once Monday we even recorded a top speed of 167 mph before needing to get on the brakes hard for turn #1. The car has the 3.09 gears and the rears were 345/30's. The data came from a combo of Track Addict (timer) and interfacing a Dual 160 high speed GPS for the speed data. The on board system would never keep up at that pace.

I'll also tell everyone that these Redeyes are a mother to get dialed in and hooked to the ground so the computer nanny will allow it to work. If it slips a little (alignment is wrong in the back) or you try to depress that accelerator pedal a little too fast to the floor (and just spin a bit); you lose, it will pull your power until you try again. You do it right and you know it, because the acceleration is noticeably stronger. It took all of the two previous seasons to get this thing dialed in right, but I believe we finally have it. Road America here we come!
