I've been searching everywhere to find some info on how to wire up a BAP, but I haven't had much luck. Does anyone here have a picture of where theirs is installed and/or what wires were spliced into? I've installed 3 of these before on previous vehicles, so I'm familiar with the overall process, just not specifically the Hellcats.

The schematic below is the only thing I've been able to come across so far. Unfortunately it's not much help because I don't know where to find the DB/OR wire they're pointing out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It’s the wire right after the pump relay in the rear trunk. If you follow the harness by the rear lights you’ll find it. Make sure you ring it out since there’s two wires with the same color

Is it on the passenger side?

Definitely nice. Wish they had this option when I did mine. Basically plugs inline with fpdm.

KB swears that their Bap can feed better than a twin pump setup but I had issues with their setup and ended up with a Fore triple pump (e85).

OP
Make sure you check your fuel pressure and injector duty cycles at wot
Where are you guys mounting the BAP box it self, best place. Any pictures?

I've got a Charger and I think I'm going to mount mine right in front of the positive battery post in the trunk. I checked a couple days ago and it looks like there's plenty of room there for it. I'll try to snap a pic once I get it installed.

Thanks for your help man. Hoping to get this thing installed in the next couple days. Really don't want to get a full fuel system. If I have trouble I'll likely just back off to the 2.75" pulley I have.

Where is this pump relay? I see the trunk fuse box, how far away is this pump relay? Is it the square black box about 2ft in front of the battery with huge harness running thru it? Is the DB/OR wire in that huge harness that runs from rear fuse box towards the front of the car?

The relay is inside the fuse box. Yes the wire goes from the fuse box towards the fpdm mounted on the passenger side wheel well area.

El Gato Diablo, your the best !
We need more good helpful people in the world like you!
If you still have it tore apart, a picture with the box?
You can see the one wire in his pic that needs to be spliced into.

Once you know what line to cut, it’s not all that complicated. Line into Bap, output line of bap to pump. The rest is boost reference and power.

Knowing that you are cutting the proper wire is the big leap. Don’t over think it. Once it is done you’ll be surprised as to how simple it really was.

How necessary do you guys think the boost reference is? I've run them both with and without on previous cars. Neither presented an issue. Seems like the computer already adjusts voltage as needed based on demand. The boost reference seems kind of unnecessary and just something else to possibly go wrong.

El Gato Diablo, can we have your opinion on stangmans701 question? Do we even need to run a hose to the blower lid for the boost reference? And please explain your quote, cable for boost switch, also boost adapter kit?
Thanks man!

A BAP is passive if you use a boost reference switch, which means it is passing OEM voltage to pump when under the set boost reference, say 4 or 6 psi.

Without a boost reference switch, which means you are closing the switch 100% of the time, the bap is continually cycling boosted voltage to pump.

The question then becomes, will the OEM wiring/pump/connectors handle extra heat and voltage? Will it shorten the pump life?

My mechanic had it plumbed into the brake boost line. Vacuum. I have no clue why he did this. The new mechanic in Phoenix sent me pictures. He said this was not correct to do it this way. So it was giving additional pressure? But just all the time? The new mechanic stated no. That it would not work at all with a vacuum hook up to the brake booster lines.

Did you ever get to finish wiring the bap? I have a challenger and i think the color of the wire that goes to the fpdm is different than the charger. I have been searching the web and can't find any instructions whatsoever. I emailed kennebell and haven't gotten a redone yet. its not the plug and play version.
