I am right around the corner and want to go see your car.......what plugs are they going to go with?

I blend down their 116 fuel to 102octane......clean...no odor no residue

 

That's definitely a good approach. I knew what I was getting into with the octane booster, so it wasn't a total shock. However, the residue was more aggressive than I thought for only using three cans.

 

Thought about Boostane, but blend 100 octane race fuel instead. Glad I do.

Yup Blended MS109 and 94 pump for me. I find that 101 to 102 octane seems like the sweet spot.

 

It's really not a shock, overall; It's how aggressive it was with only using three cans.

I just told my buddy 2 cans should be no issue with his new E63. Looks like I need to make a call.


If you don't mind LD, how quickly did you use those 3 cans and when did you pull those plugs in relation to last using boostane?

I received the text asking what octane booster I used, after they saw the plugs and O2 sensors. They didn't have a question of, if I used, but only, what I used.

Thanks for the post, real nice to see you back in the action, I am planning on running with you on some the events you race out, as soon as I stop breaking the hellcat. I know just what you want, some ******** tagging along, LOL

 

I'm signed up or going to sign up for all of the races. So far, Indiana, Pocono roll races, Florida half mile, New Orleans half mile and Dallas half mile.

I put a can in for two fill ups and then I skipped a tank. The next tank I put the can in and I ran that tank almost completely out and just put the minimum amount of fuel in because I knew it was going to be going to Demon Performance. So, overall, it was in a short amount of time and the last 10 to 12 gallons was only 93 octane.

 

were you having a mis-fire? Every octane booster I know of has MMT, and will color the plug. As long as it still fires...

 

No, the plugs are being replaced for upgrades.

It was a brand new Demon, so I have a good idea what they looked like, LOL.

Ocala is in October and I'll definitely be there.

 

This is a bit odd. Herman (GBHellcat) has been running Boostane for months and has had no such issues. In fact Boostane has run the highest dyno seen so far 794 at the wheels (902 at the crank assuming 12% loss).

I would like to hear more from others who have been using Boostane on a semi regular basis.

 

But has he pulled and inspected any spark plugs?

Also iirc that dyno was done on Hoosiers (over 30” tall) when his previous dyno with Sunoco 260 GT was on the stock tires or Mickeys.

Nothing at all against GBHellcat, he brings awesome info to the community and seems like a great guy with great intentions. But I would take that boostane dyno with a grain of salt.

Nope nothing wrong with the Sunoco 260GT, out of all the pure race fuels I've used that one performed the best.

 

Great info to use for community, as always LD, but half of me wants to know what the plugs might look like after a tank or two of 100% boostane free gas.

The other half wants to know what the bottom of your tank would like after running 4+ cans of it over two months time as well.
