I don't know if you can have any confidence in the Order Status Tracker, but my Initial Estimated Delivery reported Sunday was 09NOV2023. Today it changed to 08NOV2023 moving up a day.
My estimated delivery date just changed today from October 15 (Sunday) to October 12 (Thursday). I am not hopeful for either date really. I have noticed the pizza tracker is fairly good when your car goes into production and then cause none have shipped and all of them go to the upfitter it just stalls and dont update any more. I mean this is actually fairly accurate since all the cars at the plant my be technically still in production if they are dealing with emissions/super charger issues.

One dude on FB just posted a rumor that all the superchargers are bad and have to be all taken off and sent back to the supplier and then reinstalled. He said the supercharger failed in Leno's car already. I am not buying it. I believe half of what I see and none of what I hear!

The blower issue is real. I know an employee who works for the Dodge COO and it's 100% true that (at a minimum) the 1st batch of SC was problematic. This is when we had that 10-day period when ZERO cars were built. Not sure if that issue has been 100% resolved or not. I can ask. He did say that the blowers were seizing on the dyno. Under heat the rotors expanded and locked up, then, when it cooled off they spun again. As for Leno's car, no idea if that's true.

Other issues:

2. The CF wheels were/are leaking air (seal between rim and tire). Not sure if its all units or just some. Before hearing that I asked him if he could possibly hook me up with adding CFs to my build late in the game. His answer?
"Given the leaks and a poor quality weave you would be much better off without those wheels."
Yikes. Maybe I got lucky after all.

3. Bad fit for the hood inserts (sound familiar to OG Demon owners?)

So clearly multiple issues (and maybe others he didn't tell me about?) need to be taken care of...which honestly I'm fine with/prefer vs. sending us cars with lots of gremlins that we need to discover and fix later.

A lot of this could at least partially explain why we have seen zero cars let out of containment so far...

Interesting delay theories on FB of 1) superchargers, 2) emissions, 3) CY 2023 EPA fines, 4) shipping logistics.

RE: Shipping logistics...

One big financial advantage of waiting to ship all at once (or in a few large batches) is that you can save money by sending more cars on less trucks. For example, if a dealership had 6 D170s coming, it would cost Dodge much less to ship the 6 cars via 2 enclosed trailer trips vs. 6 individual hauls. It's not like we are going to get a partial refund of the $1595 destination charge we already agreed to pay. Any money Dodge can shave off that per unit cost is pure extra OEM profit.

Can u explain the working theory on "3"? I thought all cars HAD to be built in CY23. Maybe if -delivered- in CY24 that changes how the fines are recorded? (A guess on my part!)
Someone posted "I heard, they are shipping them after the first of the year to save millions on EPA fines/ regulations." No further info but plausible it could affect accounting and quarterly earning reporting. As for 4) Shipping....don't know how they are going to ship those thousands of D170s if they are backed up and using enclosed carriers. Seems it would take a while.

Kind of sort of but that's not quite how it works. I work in the trucking industry here in Detroit and I know this first hand. Customers get better rates on shipping contingent on quantity. So for example a logistic's carrier carrier is given an opportunity to bid on lanes and lets say the lanes are 10 cars per truck/trailer going to Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois and its "up to" 50 loads. The carrier at this point is being asked for a rough bid and they usually dont know the total number of loads at this point.

They quote Dodge $2000 per load for example. The customer will come back to ask the carrier if we contract you and guarantee 50 loads for the midwest region what is your best price. The carrier will most likely come back and knock off a fairly substantial percentage of his bid price. Keep in mind some cars will ship via rail and not all go via truck.

Keep in mind at $1595 per car Dodge charges us if 10 cars went from Brampton to California that is $15,995 Dodge picks up. I can tell you a carrier would that run for about half that number. Then once empty the carrier will line up a back haul to the midwest. Not to mention the rate is way lower for all the loads of cars shipping closer to the Brampton plant like Michigan, Ohio, ect. This is why the OEM charges a flat rate to the end user.

Except for the Viper cars that Dodge contracted Reliable Carriers to haul for them on enclosed trailers I am not aware of any SRT cars shipping via enclosed car carriers from Brampton. Not to say it wont happen but I have seen hundreds and hundreds in the last decade of car haulers crossing the Windsor/Detroit border with Challengers/Chargers and they were all on open car haulers. Sometimes a carrier may run into a situation where the only truck he has in the area that is empty may be an enclosed car hauler on which he will use it and send it to Brampton for a load. They call that carrier convenience but I am not aware that Dodge has contracted any car carriers to only use enclosed. The rate really increases to ship enclosed. From all the Cassen's and Jack Copper drivers I have spoken to usually hauls a ton of these cars out of Brampton all on open car haulers.

This is the reason all the Corvette's shipping from Kentucky and all the foreign cars shipping from the ports are shipped on open car haulers wrapped in a disposal white cover. Much much cheaper to go on open car haulers.

OG demons were all enclosed, no? I thought D170s the same.

So theoretically does Dodge save money shipping D170s in bulk or no difference than many trips in dribs and drabs?

Yes but remember there are not only 170's that will be on the truck there will be last call Chargers/Challengers as well or whatever else Brampton is building if any. The carrier is contracted by the load and if Brampton short ships a trailer and not a full truck load (I cant see that happening though) they pay for the truck load. I dont know the OEM's contract with the carrier but these are just general guidelines.

Mike OG was shipped open. How I know this is cause when I had it shipped from Indiana to my door the dealer asked me why I want to pay so much extra for enclosed when the car was delivered to them on an open carrier.
The only 2018 Demons that I know of, that were possibly delivered to the Dealer on an open trailer were located close to Detroit. In other words it was no more risk than the trip from Brampton to the Upfitter (which were also done on open trailers). I have never actually seen a photo of a Demon coming off an open trailer at a Dealership. Any photos?
