I have no clue, nor do I care since I am only interested in a 6-speed Hellcat Wide Body Challenger, which Matt confirmed is coming. And I only mentioned #7 since that is going to be released soon and it will have the most HP yet.
LOL I misunderstood and thought you had some info about the #7 being a NB. (Though it sounds like it may be 1/2 a NB - front fenderwise.)

I actually already dumped the car haha. sold it for 95,000 in November. Moving on to a 2023 BMW M2 whenever it gets built, I snagged the #1 spot on the waitlist at my local dealer somehow, figured it's a change of pace after owning every new gen American V8, minus a GT500 or ZL1 but i owned a GT and SS for a few months each. I really did want to hold onto the Hellcat longer, but I broke even on the sale, including tax. After considering the starting issue and increasing thefts, it just seemed like a safe bet at the time (plus, I live up north so I wouldn't even be able to drive it until this spring if i kept it anyways, I was really unsure about the used car market going into the winter months and onward).

Cant speak to the current market, I would assume the spring would be just as strong though. Doesn't seem like used cats are dropping in price that much compared to when i sold mine. Granted, I sold mine with a hair under 500 miles. Part of me misses it, I will say the road presence of the Hellcat is unmatched, definitely boosts the ego haha

In all reality, the car started fine on a cold start, there are -some- solutions online for the warm starting issue, but its kinda like chasing at ghost. Nothing definitive
Well sounds like a good move in the short term. On paper the M2 is really nice and I think it's one of the better looking cars they have recently made. You get the 3 years of maintenance. Once that runs out you get eaten alive at most dealerships. Once that powertrain warranty goes out at 4 years then things can get ugly unless you know someone or can work on them yourself. Buddy just left his 1 series at the Honda Dealer, cut them a large check, and drove off in a Civic. He loved the car but the dealership could not fix the motor and their independent mechanic where they send their problem cars could not either. The best he could offer was another expensive "fix" but he could not guarantee the outcome. So my friend gave up and is out of the car hobby.
Another buddy has a 4 series with a turbo inline 6. Likes it and said he could not afford to own it if he could not work on it (which he can) as it's out of warranty. For better or worse the depreciation and maintenance cost has always kept me out of all the German cars. I recognize their superiority in many areas but I guess I'm just too cheap to bight the bullet. Now if I could afford an new one every 2-3 years then that's likely what I would have as well. Good luck and you can always pick up another RE if you get the itch.

Ha! Sorry, I wish I knew the answer as I read about it. I have liked the new Challeger design since they first came out, and I still remember when my Uncle showed me his Orange '70 Hemi Challenger when I was about 15 years old, which he still owns and drives now and then. He also has a '95 Viper he bought new and a '33 Plymouth Street Rod so he is happy to see my pursuing a Mopar for a change.

Maybe that's why it's better to always lease any of the German brand cars.

I maintained some contacts at Dodge after many years in the VCA and I have been talking to Matt McAlear and he just told me this past week so I will rely on what he said.
I sure hope you're not blowing smoke - I've been impatiently waiting and figured its not going to happen this late in the game. Did Matt happen to give any idea on how many allocations for the M6 Hellcats are going to be made available? Won't he be pissed that you let the big secret out of the bag?

I only inhale smoke so you can trust what I said is what I was told. Not even he knows how many will be built at this time but only that it should be enough where most everyone that wants one will get one; however, that does not go for the special 7 models of course. And I did not tell him I was going to post what he told me but if you Google 6-speed manual Hellcat you can find many articles saying late availability so this is just confirming it.

Yes I've seen all the articles - several of them said to hustle on over to your local Dodge dealer to get an order in quick before they are gone - I checked with several dealers (as did others on this forum) and none said they were able to put in an order for the M6. Many, including me, became very skeptical of the M6 actually becoming a reality again in the Hellcat. Based on what you're saying, we will presumably be able to order in May or June when allocations are made available to dealers. Thanks for the info.

When I started contacting dealers none of them had a clue of the plan, and many do not believe what I told them, even after I told them who told me. I did get on a list at many dealers though so I hope I can get an allocation when the time comes. One dealer down here offered me one at MSRP and another at $10k over while the others said prices will be TDB based on how many allocations they receive. Needless to say, if I hear more I will post it here, but I do plan to check with Matt every so often for updates.

Looks like you were right - Did you get an order in for a manual Hellcat yet?

Yeah, I tried to tell everyone my contact was legit! But I have not been able to find an allocation at MSRP!!!

That’s one of the most rock solid engines made. It’s been around a long time so it’s long since been figured out. A lot of the reliability issues are long held beliefs. If you ask people that drive them everyday if Dodge is more reliable they would laugh at you and we all think Dodge is reliable.

Part of the problem is people that shouldn’t be buying a German car buy them used up so they can afford them and then defer the maintenance. When something does break it’s going to be more than pensive than an American car to get fixed that’s for sure.

Koons is still doing MSRP

OK, so now we have widebody cars at MSRP plus their steep processing fee at Koons. But you have to get your order in now because it's only for the first 5 orders. Price will go back up after these 5 since that will only leave a couple thousand more to sell.

They increased it to 10 the other day...
