You aren't understanding the point.
You can take 20 Hellcat's and take them to 20 different dynos and you will get 20 different results that can vary from 540 rwhp to 680 rwhp.
Do you really think that they are that much different in power?
Do you really think that the 680 rwhp Hellcat will absolutely run away from the 540 rwhp Hellcat that was tested on a different dyno?

You can not apply the "laws of physics" to the results from dynos when dynos vary and conditions vary.
The logic here is in understanding the difference and that dynos are just numbers and are not an absolute.
I know dynos are numbers but you're the one that said Dynojets give inflated numbers.

All I said is if I used your 560rwhp number, the Hellcat would not be as fast as they are.

You just don't want to admit that the Dynojet puts out numbers that are more in line with what they truly put down vs the Mustang Dyno numbers. You can spin it anyway you want.

Dude, how many DynoJets have you been too and dyno tested cars on?
I've owned many dozens of cars, and had MANY of them on Dynojets.
I've tuned cars on Dynojets. I was a beta tester for companies like Juicebox for BMW and the former PROcede with Shiv.
I know people who OWN shops with Dynojets.
And I have taken cars to drag strips for 30 years.
I've had only 2 cars on Mustang Dynos and 1 on a Dyno Dynamics. I have zero allegiance to them.

Again, you are showing your inexperience and ignorance about dynos and drag strips. You are making posts that you clearly know little to nothing about.

Do a poll man. Ask other people with experience on dynos if Dynojets are inflated compared to Mustang Dynos and Dyno Dynamics?

Then get back to me, until then you are making yourself look foolish by arguing with someone with clearly vastly more experience on dynos and on drag strips then yourself by thinking Dynojets are the most accurate representations of true WHP numbers for autos.

They are a tool for modding, tuning, etc. They do not directly correlate to drag strip results, simply because dyno numbers CAN and ARE manipulated and can vary based on a host of other variables.

Bottom line is, if you think these Dynojet results where people are getting 670-680 rwhp from stock Hellcat's are accurate representations of what the Hellcat puts down (and therefore only loses 34-44 hp in the drivetrain (714 SAE certified crank hp), I have some land to sell you.

Driver72. You keep sticking to sae cert 714hp motor.

Yes, we are saying that the motor makes more power, like 740hp. Many companies make more power than they state. Call it insurance to avoid lawsuits, as others have found out when the cars don't make the power. So for every car to make at least 714hp, some will make more.

I own and run a Dynojet. We tune and modify cars and trucks. I find it very accurate to gauge HP. Since no one knows the precise drivetrain loss. 12 to 18%. You cannot really make up numbers on this dyno. But it's not for bragging. Its a tool.

Who cares if the dynojet says 670 and the Mustang says 570 - 1 trip down the quarter with a trap speed (not an ET) then an accurate as-raced weight - and I can tell you the power the car is putting to the ground just as accurate as I can tell you what it will take for that same weight to escape the earth's gravitation pull.

Why bring something completely irrelevant up?...cuz it's all physics and I can tell you with 100% certainty that it takes more than the mustang dyno's 570 to accelerate a mass of 4675 lbs (challenger hellcat with me and full tank of gas) to 125 mph in 1320 ft

END OF STORY

As mentioned, dynos will read differently...even same brand due to variables. They are tuning tools PERIOD. Did a change help and, if so, how much did it help. However, if your looking for bragging rights use a DynoJet :p - sorry...couldn't resist.

For those that are hellbent on hp numbers:
Here's a thought that should satisfy everyone, since the advertised rating is 707 use this as the basis for your horsepower. So regardless of dyno, if a mod added 50 hp then state your car makes 757 hp.

For the common person, they will immediately get it because most people only know crank hp. For those in the know, they will get it and they can also apply the inefficiency factor to their hearts content to derive WHP.

For all others:
Take a trip down the 1320!
