I would really like to try this - what locations do they run on the west coast? The closest I remember seeing was Colorado... still a good distance away for me...
The only mile events I know are Maine, Arkansas, Texas and Colorado.

1/2 mile events are popping up more and more often, as they can be run on smaller regional airports, like these:

Another option to look into could be the land speed racing at El Mirage, depending on class safety requirements etc.

If they are auto’s I’m pretty sure there not manually shifting so the hellcat is at 6000 and the Redeye at 6250.
You know, I looked at some acceleration video I did, and it does not even look like the tach hit above 6100 rpm. Not sure why the Redeye peaks HP at 6300 rpm, but Dodge would use less than peak for a shift point, unless they try to keep closer to peak TQ at 4500.
I plan on taking my RE over to Johnny B. NASA runway event and runny the 2.5 miles,. Looking to join the 200 club and told my wife, power bump will happen if the car fails to hit at least 200 mph with 3.09 gears. Dodge never said exactly what combo the 203 RE top speed was reached with.
I will have my 200 club patch or die trying.

The tach just can’t keep up but it’s shifting where it should.

@ doublewide, $485 for the 3 day event or a sampler mile "1-pass" at $225, which can be used towards the 3 day fee if you want to do more runs. There is also a $55 annual membership fee to the ECTA organising body,

Equipment-wise the cars can be stock if running below 185mph, but you need "no uncovered skin" - a full-face helmet, fire-resistant race suit, gloves and boots. My whole outfit was about $400 including helmet, from Racequip / RJS.

This weekend I made about 25 passes in total, but also loaned out my car to a couple of other drivers so could have done more. I also left mid-morning Sunday.
Is there a specific Website I can go to, to read more information on this and the requirements? It sounds like fun.

Hellcat diffs are bolt in swaps with Redeye and Demon. The 41 spline confusion is on the shaft between the CV joints. The diff splines and hub splines are the same.

Hi Paul

This article has a good explanation of the differences we saw last year in aerodynamics and gearing - the widebody Hellcat has 16% more drag than a standard body, which offsets all the extra Redeye power at top speed - then it's down to gearing.

2019 Dodge Challenger: 5 Things to Know

Did you change to a 2.62 gear or are you keeping the 3.09?

I kept the 3.09 but have done major mods including a new motor, heads, ported blower, e85 and many other things. I will be trying it out at the 1 1/2 mile race in New Mexico in February. Excited to see what it can do.

16% more drag for Widebody? No way!

The numbers posted in that article do not jive with what FCA has posted.

2020 FCA numbers, Hellcat CD is .384 and the Widebody is .398 so closer to 4%.

Frontal area is 26 sq ft for Hellcat and 26.8 sq ft for Widebody.

You are going to do well. I am sure you saw the post a week or two ago that said sixth gear held into the low 190's? What is your goal and guess?

I want to make sure I am over 200. Anything else is a bonus. Barth Tuning has it now getting it ready. I am looking forward to it no matter what it runs. The people running the race are good people. Should be a good time.

What was wrong with the original motor?

I hve owned and driven both the 2:62 and the 3:09--and there's NO WAY the 2:62 is a faster car on low or big end racing.. The car actually needs the 3:09 to pull through the torque curve. The upper end pull with the 3:09 is so much stronger..
So--DOdge would make an option for their product that would make it slower?? HAHAHA... no way..
Get the 3:09--you won't regret it! and if you have a HellCat with an M6, get the 3:90 diff--BIG improvement!
