Are you in NY city or state? If you are out in a (relatively) low population/crime area, you'll probably be fine. In NY City, you'll just be feeding the gangsters...

Nothing wrong with NYC and I’d live there in a nice place in Manhattan. That being said I wouldn’t have a hellcat in NYC unless you have a private garage facility and/or valets. No street parking or public garages 100%.

but then your paying $1500 a month just for a parking spot…..

As someone who lives in NJ 30 minutes away from the city and has commuted to the city via train daily for over a decade I can say that the crime issues with New York are vastly over blown by 3rd parties with specific political agendas to push. I will bet 9/10 negative respondents in this thread either do not do not live within 1000 miles of New York or have a political agenda.

By all accounts and measures crime in New York is at decades lows. Is there still crime? Of course it’s a large city but will you get carjacked and mugged the minute you step your foot out of the door? No.

As to answer to your question, I would never willingly bring my hellcat to the city. Not for fear of being carjacked but because New York drivers are maniacs. If you live in the city I would recommend a metro card and stay off the roads by all means. Save the Hellcat for the surburbs.

If you are a reasonably cautious person I think it would be fine. I live near Detroit and have multiple friends who have had MOPARs stolen. I always park mine in the garage at night, avoid going downtown with it, and avoid parking it in any lot that it's not either in my view or is in a very good area like my city. Only ever had one problem at a Walmart near my work place which is in a not so great but not awful area. Be smart with it and you should be fine.
