I know this is an older post, but I'm installing an FI Interchiller kit and upon reading their info, it seems it is best to go with an aftermarket pump. So, considering this, I was doing some research and came up on this post. You can still only get the CWA400 pump (not the EMP unit), so I was going to go that route. I appreciate the info on the 1.5" to 1" reducer tubes listed. My back is against the wall as I'm trying to get this done before I'm supposed to run my first run of the season at the end of March. So, the more info, the better. If anyone else has any info on this intercooler pump switch, I would love to hear any other info you have.

I also have to figure out the mounting brackets for this new one. @HC5120 Did you have to actually manufacture the brackets or did you say you could modify the stock pump brackets?

I haven't pulled the factory pump out yet. I only had the refrigerant evacuated out of my AC system so I could start cutting lines and such. I need to dump the I/C coolant, so that I can start removing the pump and such. Fingers crossed I get this done in time. :-o

Also, thank you to @ksilovich for the update on the wiring. :) I'll make sure to wire it as you stated.

As you know, the wiring was posted above. The bracket you have to make yourself. Same with the reducer, unless you can find one online. We didn't look for one, just made one. The CWA400 is clocked right, so where the lines go in and go out works just fine. I had problems with running the BMR ice tank/expansion tank as I could not keep air out of the system (though others seem to not have any problems with the BMR tank, so who knows what the issue was). I switched back to my stock tank and have not had any problems with it again. I will put the CWA pump back in sometime in the future, since I have the bracket and the reducer to do it and now know how to wire it, but at this point I'm leaving the HC the way it is and working on another project.

You can read threads on the interchiller. From what I understand (from reading the FI install directions), you do need a certain amount of coolant capacity to optimize it, and the stock system is less than that. But others who run the FI with a stock capacity system can comment on that, how it works, etc.

I hope some of that helps.

Thank you kindly for the info. I have been reading up on the interchiller posts here on Hellcat.org. :) I'll have to figure out the bracket(s) this weekend when I receive the pump. Hopefully it won't be as complicated as I think it's going to be. Good news on the clocking of the pump, that will make things much easier.

I'm also working on an additional tank location. I know it is suggested to try and keep it as close to the front as possible to pump the cold water into the S/C instead of putting it into the back and having it "warm up" by the time it gets to the front. Plus, I'm like you, I really don't want to put a tank in the trunk and such.

I already have the line reducers coming as well (1.5" to 1"), so that will make things a bit easier as long as I can fit the reducers back behind the bumper where I need them to be.

Thanks again for the response. :)
