I guess I should have been a little more clear. I'm talking about the 2009/2010 Saleen 570x. 700+ HP. I don't care just about the speed factor, just looking for some comparisons. Maybe its outdated now with the Hellcat, but I thought Saleen did an excellent job of excelling at where dodge failed with the release of the Challenger. Both with the 570 and the 570x.

I have no doubt the Hellcat would give the older 570x a run, but I'd really be curious to see some feedback from someone who has owned both.

Obviously this forum is extremely bias, and that's fair but they are still in the Challenger family and personally I think even the 2010 570x looks much better than the Hellcat, from a cosmetic point of view.

Best deal I've seen was 50k for a 12 mile, mint 570x. It was red though and I can't stand red. The Saleen green and purple paints are far better looking than the Dodge Hellcat IMO.

Anyway, thanks for the harassment. :)
Now maybe someone can actually add something constructive.
It's unfortunate that you didn't get the constructive input you are looking for here. But you must certainly understand that fanboys of all sorts of vehicles love to troll the forum looking to incite emotional arguments about how much better, faster, lighter, etc., their cars are than the Hellcat. Maybe rather than touting the Saleen as being better looking, which after all, is a matter of personal taste anyway you could have simply asked if any forum members have owned both and left it at that. It really isn't a valid comparison to measure an older, out of date vehicle against the hi tech Hellcat.

Good luck, I hope your search for someone who has owned both is successful.

Hello,

Since the release of the Hellcat it seems the value of the Saleen 570x has dropped considerably. When you can find them the prices are pretty reasonable considering what they were initially going for.

I was curious if any one on this forum has had the pleasure of owning both vehicles, and if so could you please give me your thoughts on the pluses and minuses of both.

Ultimately if you could only own one, which would you choose?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Pretty sure my original post was exactly what you just stated...
I didn't mind getting jabbed a bit, that's cool.
Guess jabbing back might have hurt some feelings, who knows?

Part of the problem (can't say how much) is that it's an apples/oranges comparison. A factory car compared with an aftermarket tuner.

There isn't anything necessarily wrong with aftermarket, but where and when or how do you draw the line. As soon as you modify a car, there are no longer any limits, it becomes purely an issue of money. Modified, a little or a lot, is still modified, there's only one version of "stock".

As for your question, I can't imagine there were a bunch of those sold were there? Chances are very slim to find someone who purchased both, I would add even lower odds being that the demographic likely is very different as well???

I would have never guessed at Saleen playing in the Dodge camp, I just always assumed that they were Ford and also there their own branding...

Good luck :)

EDIT: Damn it, I HATE it when I do that....

I knew it was a long shot. But you never know

This the only thing close to a review I can ever get

Always better to take the high road on forums. And you're right, you did start off by asking in a non-confrontational fashion. Good luck!

If you read the articles online for all intensive purposes they are out of business.
Thanks for the info. Oh, and FYI the correct term is "for all intents and purposes."

Saleen, you're a good sport and you asked a fair question. As you can tell, there are many here on the forum that love their HC's and aren't shy about letting everyone know. It's all good and thanks for joining us;)

Thanks.
I might get the Hellcat. Just weighing options. It's hard to beat that warranty.

Does the 570 have the 6.1L Hemi or the 6.4L Hemi?

R.K.
the '09-'10 570X had the 370 [6.1] bored/stroked to either 392 or 409, forget which or if both were available. I shopped around for one back then, figured since most dealers still had big ADM's on SRT8's well into '09 the price diff might not be too bad, but couldn't find one under 100k.
the other 570's are mostly 5.7's

I'm sorry my friend you won't find an unbiased answer on here.
I've owned a 70.5 Z28 and a 72 SS396 Camaro.
My daily is a Lightning and I own a 2500lb 65 Mustang notch back race car.
If I had to take one car from everything I own save for one very special car it would be my Cat every time.
If Dodge bring out a RAM sport truck (not the TRX) with a Hellcat motor I would buy one in a heart beat.

It's been discussed here before:
Dodge Challenger 570X Pre Hellcat?

I'd be afraid of it from the perspective of them being out of business & trying to source parts when things break.
